All fitness levels and ages are welcome at Vibe! Our instructors are extensively trained and able to effectively teach students of all levels, with appropriate modifications and enhancements.
Vanessa is a longtime Berkeley resident who came to Pilates to address chronic pain associated with carrying and giving birth to twins in 2011. Pilates helped alleviate her pain and build strength to counteract the residual effects of post-pregnancy. Meera started teaching Pilates after studying and practicing it for more than twenty years. Meera is an attorney for children and a fashion photographer as well. Her background in teaching comes from thirteen years of training Family Court lawyers, judges, mediators and evaluators how to recognize and respond to child abuse and domestic violence. Elise is a body positive instructor who came to Pilates and the GYROKINESIS® method through studying ballet as a young person. During her 15 years of classical ballet training, Elise discovered that the more seriously she trained the more frequently her hypermobile body was injured or in pain. At the urging of her instructors and physical therapists she began to explore the therapeutic benefits of Pilates.
Alison Schoenbeck began her love affair with movement early in life as a competitive gymnast and dancer. She discovered mat Pilates in 2005 while exploring ways to strengthen and balance her body following long hours spent playing field hockey, running, and cycling. Roxie discovered Pilates at a YMCA in Brooklyn, NY in 2005. She immediately fell in love because it allowed her to move her body in ways that were reminiscent of her dance training of 15 years, and also complemented her yoga practice. Gabby began studying pilates with Ellie Herman in San Francisco through her studio's Teacher Training Program in 2004.
